Agellis supplies a tundish level system to a plant in USA

Agellis Group AB has received an order for the supply of a Tundish Level Measurement system (EMLI-T) from an American steel plant belonging to a major South American group.

The Tundish Level Measurement system is designed to monitor the true metal level in the tundish continuously, during casting, ladle changes and draining in order to control the desired operating level without being affected by slag or powder. The metal level in the tundish is measured electromagnetically to improve quality in the finished product, optimize production yield and increase safety at the caster.

The EMLI-T system is unique and challenges traditional procedures in the industry. It is always a real pleasure when a customer decides to invest in the latest technology to remain competitive and market-leading. The fact that this customer belongs to a large group shows that investments such as this one can be approved when they increase production yield and bring a higher safety to the operation”, says Patrik Bloemer, CEO of Agellis Group.

Delivery and installation is expected to be made during the second quarter of 2017.

All Agellis electromagnetic products are based on a common electronic platform called EMLI.

Agellis minimizes steel losses in Japanese steel plant

Agellis Group AB has received an order for the supply of a LadleSlag monitoring system. The order comes from a major integrated steel plant in Japan.

The monitoring system LadleSlag is designed to help the operator monitor and rate the de-slagging process in order to achieve a sufficient and consistent slag removal, while simultaneously minimizing the steel losses.

In steel production, the focus lies in maximizing metal yield and reduce unnecessary process costs. Controlling the de-slagging process is crucial to production efficiency and significantly reduces the operator skill dependencies.

“Receiving an order from one of the leading Japanese steel producers is an honour and a great testament of the need for our products to achieve better process control in order to compete on a tough global market”, says Patrik Bloemer, CEO of Agellis Group.

Delivery and installation is expected to be made during the second quarter of 2017.

Agellis supplies leading global steel producer with LadleSafe monitoring system

Agellis Group AB has received an order for the supply of a LadleSafe system. The order, from a leading global steel producer, applies to a stainless steel plant in Europe.

The LadleSafe system is designed to monitor ladles and alarm if the equipment shows external hot spots or ladle lining damage. The system minimizes the risk of ladle breakouts, improves safety for operating personnel and optimizes the utilization of the refractories in the ladle fleet.

Ladle breakouts are costly and can cause severe damage to equipment, personnel and the production chain. Avoiding breakouts is an important safety topic to address for any modern steel producer.

With a rising market demand for stainless steel the pressure on production efficiency is increasing as well. This order, to a well-known stainless steel producer, is a great recognition of the value our solutions bring to our customers”, says Patrik Bloemer, CEO of Agellis Group.

Delivery and installation is expected to be made during the first quarter of 2017.

Agellis receives order to increase processing efficiency in a Scandinavian stainless steel plant

Agellis Group AB has received an order for the supply of a LadleSlag system. The order comes from Outokumpus Avesta works, a stainless steel plant in Sweden.

The order relates to the monitoring system called LadleSlag which is designed to monitor the ladle de-slagging process in order to achieve a sufficient and consistent slag removal and in the same time minimize steel losses.

“Being a producer of stainless steel one of our primary focuses is to maximize the metal yield throughout the processing, thus reducing operational costs. In addition, slag carry-over between treatments have grave implications on efficiency. Our strive is to minimize this while simultaneously reduce operator dependency by the installation of a LadleSlag system”, says Mikael Gottfridsson, Steel Plant Manager.

Receiving this order from one of the world’s predominant stainless steel producers is of great reference value to us and, even more important, an acknowledgement that our systems fills an important customer need“, says Patrik Bloemer, CEO of Agellis.

Delivery and installation is expected to be made during the 1st quarter of 2017.

Agellis recieves order for an upgrade project in USA

Agellis has received an order from USA for the system upgrade of an american steel plant. The system to be upgraded is an older generation suspended sensor measurement solution for a precise steel meniscus measurement in the mold (EMLI-Ms). Using electromagnetic mold level measurement is a great advantage compared to other known methods since the measurement is very precise and completely independent of the powder thickness. Electromagnetic solutions allow controlling the steel meniscus level itself which is a process necessity to achieve level stability and produce quality products.

“It is always a great pleasure to receive orders for the upgrade of older systems since it is a true testimony of a long lasting customer satisfaction”, says Patrik Bloemer, CEO for Agellis.

Agellis receives order for 150.000 EUR from a European steel plant

Agellis Group AB has received an order totalling 150.000 EUR for the upgrade of three level measurement systems. The order comes from a steel plant in Europe. The order relates to the measurement systems called EMLI-Ms. The systems measure molten metal level in continuous casting moulds. The three new systems replace older versions which the steel plant has been using successfully for more than 20 years.

Delivery and installation is expected to be made during the fourth quarter of 2015.

Agellis receives an order for 50.000 EUR from a European copper plant

Agellis Group AB has received an order totalling 50.000 EUR for a measuring system to detect metal during slag tapping from a copper furnace. The order relates to the Agellis measurement system EMLI-SIO, a slag indication system for converters and non-ferrous furnaces.

In this installation the system will be used for detecting metal during slag tapping in a copper furnace. It is important that no metal is mixed with the slag as it is cooled with water in the next step of the process. If molten metal gets in contact with water there is a risk of explosions which can lead to plant personnel injuries, equipment damage and process interruptions.

Delivery and commissioning of the system will take place during the fourth quarter of 2015.

Agellis receives order for 140.000 EURO from a European steel plant

Agellis Group AB has received an order totalling 140.000 EUR for a measuring system, including a three year support agreement, from a steelworks in Europe. The order relates to the Agellis measurement system EMLI-SIE, a slag indication system for electric arc furnaces. The system helps the plant to tap steel from their electric arc furnace while preventing large amounts of slag entering the ladle. Reducing slag carryover from the electric arc furnace assists a more stable secondary processing of the steel and reduces consumption of additives.

Delivery of the system will take place during the third quarter and commissioning is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2015. The support agreement will run for three years and includes the supply of sensors and a preventive maintenance program.

Agellis receives order for 150.000 EUR from a European copper plant

Agellis receives order from a North American steel plant

AGELLIS Group, which develops and sells products and solutions to the global metals industry, has received an order totalling 140 KEuro for a measurement system at a steel plant in North America.

The order relates to a system (EMLI-T) that will accurately measure the steel level in tundishes at a continuous casting machine. The order was preceded by a demonstration of the Agellis equipment at the plant while working together with the development department of the steel group. The system is expected to be delivered during the third quarter and handed over to the customer during the fourth quarter of 2014.

“Agellis had close cooperation with the steel group development department and we could show the plant significant operational benefits and an attractive payback time. The installation will have a great reference value for Agellis globally.” says Patrik Bloemer, CEO of Agellis.

For competitive reasons, Agellis chooses not to mention the end user plant by name.

All Agellis products are based on a common electronic platform called EMLI. EMLI T (Tundish) measures the steel level in a tundish with high accuracy, independent of slag and powder thickness. A reliable measurement of the steel level in the tundish helps the plant to increase production and obtain a higher yield.
